So, what do you do for a living?
I’m a writer, a journalist, a translator, a voice artist, a proofreader, a sports broadcaster and a few other things besides. I’m a freelancer who does lots of different stuff with content – including (but not limited to) sport and travel.
Not so punchy, is it? Yet trying to hone a succinct elevator pitch is a battle I've been losing for years. In trying to keep it short, I inevitably fail to mention the one skill that might be most useful to you - and walk away kicking myself. So, instead of pursuing some elusive one-liner, I made a CV video. It's embedded on this page.
If you’d now like to see the more formal (and fully updated!) run-down of what I’ve done in my life, with references and all that jazz, then my LinkedIn profile is for you. Otherwise, explore this website, where there’s a page for every skill I’ve got to offer. Most of them have a portfolio for you to browse.
If you like the same posh-person sports I do, then subscribe to my Substack for absolutely unfiltered coverage of cricket, rugby, golf and Moto GP!
As of early 2023, you can also catch my live commentary work with irreverent cricket audio gang Guerilla Cricket.
I’m proudly South African (thrice Rugby World Cup champions, since you ask), but also carry a British passport. I’ve used said document to visit almost 80 countries, including Australia, where I briefly worked as an Outback trucker. I also once spent a couple of years trying to become a professional golfer, but have since settled for social cricket as my sport of choice. These days I live and work in Vienna, Austria.
