Turning raw manuscripts into pretty ebooks and paperbacks

Written an ebook for your company, brand or simply to show off your thought leadership? Or have you just put the finishing touches on your first paperback novel as an independent author? Maybe you're looking to publish in both formats?

Bad news: unless you have a publisher, your work isn't done just because the writing part is over. Turning an MS-Word document into a professional-looking ebook/paperback can take more effort than you realise. It can also require buying or learning software...

Formatting can be a time-consuming business, particularly if your publication has graphics, captions, extract blocks, footnotes, subtitles and so forth. Imagine 690 pages like this one: I've been there and can spare you that!

Even for a novel, there are a multitude of ways the right software can make the end product prettier - styled chapter headings, different header/page numbering options and WhatsApp conversations that look exactly like the real thing, to name but three!

As you'll probably have guessed, I have formatted all of my own books for ebook and print publication - feel free to test the results by reading them! Or speak to happy clients such as Dick Stroud, some of whose books are pictured on this page.
